An Ananda School Learning Center is more than just a classroom; it is a vibrant community hub where disadvantaged children find safety, dignity, and learning.
Unlike formal schools that require extensive land acquisition and brick-and-mortar infrastructure, Ananda Schools are established directly within the heart of rural villages, river islands (chars), hilly tribal settlements, and urban slums. By utilizing community-donated rooms or rented local halls, the project ensures that learning centers are always within a 15-minute safe walk from every student's home.

Center Standards
What Makes an Ananda Center Special?
Each center adheres to strict quality guidelines established by the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) and the World Bank.
Community-Donated Spaces
To eliminate capital expenditures, centers are hosted in clean, well-ventilated rooms provided by village elders or community organizations, fostering a deep sense of collective local ownership.
Hygiene & Safety Facilities
Every center must maintain access to clean drinking water (tube wells) and sanitary latrines. Daily routines begin with personal hygiene inspections, handwashing drills, and health awareness.
CMC Governance & Oversight
A 9-member Center Management Committee (CMC), including parents, teachers, and upazila education officers, conducts monthly audits of student attendance, teacher punctuality, and stipend utilization.
Flexible Daily Schedules
Operating times (morning, afternoon, or evening) are decided mutually by parents and CMCs. This adaptability ensures working children or agricultural helpers can attend school without income disruption.
Rich Learning Materials
Each center is outfitted with colorful floor mats, a blackboard, a mini student library, visual number/alphabet charts, and recreational sports equipment (footballs, skipping ropes, chess sets).
Parent & Guardian Meetings
Monthly mothers' gatherings and parent-teacher check-ins ensure families remain deeply invested in their children's educational progress, reducing dropout risks and preventing early child marriages.
